Apples and oranges. I can see why nfl fans would want to change the subject. it cant be a very comfortable thing knowing that people are suffering agonizing deaths far too early in life for your entertainment.

i was discussing the nfl covering up, ignoring, and going to great lengths to discredit evidence that playing thru concussion was extremely damaging to their player's post career lives and even cause of death in many cases.

to answer that it was their "employment" and getting paid justifies it is akin to saying all the chernobyl employees deserved to die from meltdown radiation because that was their job.

good to hear you think grown men should be paid to play a child's game tho. i guess if cfb players dont want to have to suffer the hardships of a 4 year full boat scholly, they could join the military to get their college money like all us vets did. of course their wont be any big wig AD or head coach to lobby for admissions waivers for them when theyre apply or do any other leg work for them.

Yes I enjoy the NFL tremendously. Did they cover up? Sure.

Do I feel bad about it? Sure.

Am I gonna stop watching it? Nope.

Do I think they should be paid to play a "child's game." Football isn't a child's game on any level.

And there are no 4 year scholarships. Scholarships are good for one year only.

BTW...going into the military isn't the only option outside of sports if you want college money. I sure as hell wouldn't join the military just to get college money. No way.

So are you saying gay folks aren't violent? Where do you get that opinion from?

Nope. Not saying that.

He's a real egotist, convinced he has vision denied to anyone else. He's messing things up for fans and players both. Anything that leads to his replacement is in the interest of a lot of people in the NFL.

Here's an old clip of Steve King (R, Iowa) eviscerating Goodell and exposing more hypocrisy.

King Questions Goodell on Limbaugh Comments (full version) - YouTube

Goodell rejected Limbaugh as ownership material, but signed off on rap stars who had used the 'N' word as acceptable NFL ownership material.

Goodell was able to ultimately evade the questions, but had to resort to playing dumb to do so. It should be embarrassing to every NFL fan that their commissioner goes before congress and has to appear deliberately obtuse to get through it.
