Looks like Cruz wants to get more Republicans forced to vote for the debt ceiling.

Ted Cruz Threatens To Filibuster Clean Debt Limit Hike

While this might help Cruz in some groups, doing this will hurt at least 5 Republicans.

Go ahead, Cuz, bring back memories of the Govt.' shutdown, and who most people blame for that.

I wonder if he's going to paraphrase Dr. Seuss again, or will he go for Mother Goose this time?

This may not be stupid from his point of view. This may be great for him, just not so much for the 5 that have to vote to overcome his filibuster.

Dont underestimate him. He does things for a reason. He's arrogant, and self centered, but its a mistake to think he is stupid. People who have met him, and who know him, have commented on this.

Curz has absolutely no juice with the Boehner and the House Republicans this time around. Sorry Generalissimo Cruz, no one is saluting you this time...well maybe the one finger.

I'm more than certain that the GOP can muster 5 votes (probably more) to crack the 60 vote threshold with no problem.

Im sure they can-the problem is they shouldnt have to. By doing so they damage those 5 as it will be used as a talking point against them in primaries. If Cruz does this, hes basically forcing the Republicans to throw 5 guys under a bus so Cruz can get a talking point.

I see that some Senate Republicans, wisely, joined with Democrats to defeat the filibuster, thus allowing the Senate to vote, and approve, the debt ceiling increase.

If someone told me that Senator Cruz was a 'mole' placed by the Democrats to make the Republicans look foolish, I would, at least, give it some serious consideration.
