Repeal or gut the Patriot Act if you really believe the government is doing unacceptably wrong things. Don't support the Patriot Act while attacking NSA. You can't have both.

I supported it back in the Bush days a lot of people also did back then, i still do. but for some reason people suddenly decided they hate it...

Very true. Throw out the Patriot Act, and then pass a law that is actually commensurate to the threat that existed in 2001. Without all the flag waving and invective. I'm sure every democracy in the world has a security law. We might look at a few as examples of how it is done when a right wing zealot isn't in charge.
