I maintain the difference was the Obama team was prepared to compete in every contest from the beginning. Therefore Obama was able to build on his success in neighboring Iowa, where as the Clinton team was scrabbling in some states that they didn't think they would need to even bother with.
Clinton polled better in every demographic because nobody knew whom Obama was. Strong grass-roots lobbying in Iowa and his early showing there changed that.

Just look to the 2008 primary demographics of actual voting, referencing polls is fine prior to having actual results but afterwards they are as useful as the days weather forecast from 2 weeks ago.

I don't think we are really in that much disagreement.

They definitely did a great job of getting him noticed in early primaries and the youth and black voters responded throughout both the primaries and then into the general election.

I am in awe that you were able to generate that stirring factual rebuttal.

Clearly I have been underestimating your vast capabilities of logic and reason.

I don't.
Why not just call the Repub's the Taliban Party?

To be a member of the Democrat Party really gets under your skin, doesn't it? Good.

Did you get that? Can I explain it to you in another way?

You apparently buy into the myth of the informed voter. We don't live in a society with informed voters, and haven't at least since the advent of television. In a society of uninformed voters, the coolest cat gets the gig. In 2008, Obama was the coolest cat on the campaign trail. Go watch a video of his debate with Hillary, and especially his 2nd debate with McCain. Cool as a cucumber, unflappable, and head and shoulders cooler than his opponents. Toss in black skin, white guilt and 3 terms of someone named Bush?

Hillary didn't get dissed, she got outplayed. Same for McCain. Same for Romney.

Obama is a gifted campaigner. He sucks mightily at doing the job, but he kicks ass on the galactic scale where interviewing for the job is concerned.
