For better or worse, marriage is a legal, binding contract. You become responsible for the debts another person racks up. No difference than if she took out credit cards or bought a car; he assumes those debts..
Not entirely true unless you live in "community property" state(Arizona, California, Idaho, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin). In "common law" states your spouse's debt is their debt alone unless the debt was for a family need.
Actually she did not fall to her death, she jumped. Skydivers dont fall out of a plane.
She wasn't skydiving, she was BASE jumping.
Once she removed herself physically from the mountain, she was falling, and plummeted to the earth at 9.8 m/s just as does any other object that falls.
Furthermore, it was not her intention to hit the ground at that speed, her parachute did not open.
Yes it sounds cold but in part that's why we have so many problems. I have no problem in letting them jump but if you want to take the risk pay the consequences. You got yourself up there, get yourself down if you run into problems.
Or pay a steep fine to help to pay for those who must come rescue you.
They both got down by themselves and neither had to be rescued.
They both got down by themselves and neither had to be rescued.
Technically yes, she had to be recovered. But my statement was a generalization. Sometimes people do have to be rescued. You got yourself up there, get yourself down.
No one should be charged for anything. Our taxes pay for the services we receive including fire and rescue. The woman lost her life that's enough hurt for the man to go through...that park was as much theirs as it is mine and everyone else that pays taxes to maintain it. We can have fun in it if we choose to.
