Ahhh actually Obamacare is more closely modeled after Romney care, which was based off of a idea from the heritage foundation in response to Hillarycare.

Yeah I know...Obamacare was originally a GOP idea.....sometimes I think thats whats pissed them off the most.

I didn't ask if there was another name for Obamacare. But, thank you for educating me.

I never understand this illogical nonsense. The President and Democrats want to raise the minimum wage for economic, political and ideological reasons.

There is no hiding for the President or the Democratic party from the ACA.

Unless a national catastrophe occurs, like a terrorist attack, war in Israel, an out break of a serious disease, a crashing national economy, etc there will be attention paid to the ACA.

Every month HHS announces ACA enrollment numbers. Everyday a number of articles are written about the ACA.

The federal minimum wage was first set in 1938 at 25 cents an hour. Had it tracked the cost of living since, it would today be $4.07 an hour, based on Labor Department data and the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ inflation calculator. This is the only logically consistent “historic” value of the minimum wage, 44% less than the current amount of $7.25.

Advocates of a higher minimum wage arbitrarily selected 1968 as the historical reference point. It’s no wonder: That’s when federal minimum wage hit its inflation-adjusted high point.

How about picking other arbitrary years to track the minimum wage and inflation? If you used 1948 instead of 1968, the minimum wage’s inflation-adjusted value would only be $3.81 an hour. If you chose 1988, the adjusted minimum wage would be $6.50 an hour.

Because even in 1968 it didn't crush our economy to set it high. In fact in a time of ever increasing inequality you could argue that it should have tracked with our productivity and be over 22! So as a compromise, we take the 1938 number of $4.07, add in the "adjusted for productivity" of 22, get 26, and compromise to 13! How about that?

Seriously you can play witht he numbers all you want, but there are good solid economic reasons to raise it. The term demand driven economy comes to mind for example.

Why not $200, grey?

First of all, while the “average worker’s” productivity has risen, minimum wage employees are not average – in fact, they’re the lowest, most unskilled labor in the workforce.

Second, one of the reasons productivity has increased is that as the cost of unskilled labor rose, the ranks of those expensive idiots were replaced by smarter, cheaper machines. Every notch upwards in the cost of a floor sweeper encourages further substitution.

So, you can say that this admin can handle two things at the same time?
