I think it should only be conducted by professionals and not religious Dogmatic churches.
I do believe people can change their sexuality though. However I don't believe in forcing people to do it, only people who want to change.
There ARE no 'professionals' still doing so-called 'conversion therapy' - only anti-gay religious nutters like those from NARTH. It doesn't matter what uneducated lay people believe about sexual orientation - the medical professionals disagree and their views are based on modern evidence, not religious beliefs or long out-dated and debunked Freudian notions.
The CORRECT professionals agreed until the 70's it was a mental disease.Political pressure and Monetary pressure changed that only..not some new evidence to the contrary.
Then in 1970 gay activists protested against the APA convention in San Francisco. These scenes were repeated in 1971, and as people came out of the “closet” and felt empowered politically and socially, the APA directorate became increasingly uncomfortable with their stance. In 1973 the APA’s nomenclature task force recommended that homosexuality be declared normal. The trustees were not prepared to go that far, but they did vote to remove homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses by a vote of 13 to 0, with 2 abstentions. This decision was confirmed by a vote of the APA membership, and homosexuality was no longer listed in the seventh edition of DSM-II, which was issued in 1974.
Like I said militant homosexuals and political pressure..
What’s noteworthy about this is that the removal of homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses was not triggered by some scientific breakthrough. There was no new fact or set of facts that stimulated this major change. Rather, it was the simple reality that gay people started to kick up a fuss.

Incorrect. There has been evidence to the contrary since Evelyn Hookers study in the 1950's. In fact it was only societal mores that got it listed in the DSM in the 1950's in the first place, not medical evidence.
It was removed from the DSM in the 1970s' because of medical evidence to the contrary AND changing social mores, political advocacy against the evidence-free, ineffective and harmful 'treatment' of gay and lesbian people (lobotomies, castration, electroshock therapy' etc).
Sorry but you really should study the actual research on it. Or maybe meet some of these folks. Growing up gay sucks. I mean REALLY sucks. its not a choice.
And no, your children are not your property to do whatever you wish to. Sorry.
What is with all your Gay hatred? Holding something back? Maybe your "child' has talked to you and said they are Gay?
Nope. I just don't like homosexuals. They are deviants and degenerates.

Read the stuff from the PRO HOMOSEXUAL website there...even it says there was no medical evidence prior to it being changed.
