But hey, whatever works for you. The reality is I am sure some feel that way, but doing things based on what a couple people say that affects millions is probably unwise.

Show us where it's been debunked. We have no reason to trust you just because you say it. Show us the proof. That's how forum's work.

Tell us why a call into KLBJ is problematic on its face. Because that's the premise of your comment....that "a caller to KLBJ" is not worth considering.

Show us and tell us why. Your opinion is meaningless.

Must be a hipster.
Austin is full of them.

Unemployed yuppy wannabees living off of welfare benefits.

These are the ones using their SNAP cards in Whole Foods and Central Market rather than Wallymart

It wasn't a news interview.
She called into one of the talk radio programs (Todd and Don)
The talk radio hosts on klbj swing both ways which makes the station attractive to a wide audience.

My favorite though was Jeff Ward in the afternoon on the drive home from work.
Can't get the station anymore since moving away.

Austin Local News - (Listen) "Who's the fool?" Welfare recipient tells Austin's Morning News she can stay home and smoke weed

Pretty easy for someone to make up a story like that if they are the ones calling into the radio station.

I think Lucy is on the right track. She is explaining how the system is designed to discourage you from working. And while I think she is on the right track. I'm not entirely sure the purpose of her call. I suppose she is just irritated that people want to badmouth the poor for behaving in a way that seems immoral. Without understanding that it is perverse government incentives that actually compels people to game the system.

I wish she was more knowledgeable about how politics work across other income groups. So she could have explained a bit about why disparities in income-earning are so large to begin with. And how that disparity also encourages people not to work.
