You're a government defense contractor, that's to only possible situation that's less productive and more crooked than an auto related labor union.

That's right. Make sure you keep paying your taxes so I can stretch this game out for a few more years...sucker.

The ignorance and propaganda surrounding unions is on full display, but what do you expect from people who have never been in one and who are indoctrinated by the right's assault on organized labor? It's been ongoing for decades, and you can convince those with very little to vote against their own economic interests, that is proven as well.

The vote was very close, roughly 715 to 650 is the count I read. Very likely split down party lines (left/right) but perhaps overlooked in the argument is VW is likely a good steward and company to work for and workers simply did not feel threatened. They felt safe there and who knows how effective the union was at getting organized and getting their message out. I know that the rightwing had lobbying groups coming into Tennessee and that local Republicans were out in force against this, as this has always been the Republican strategy since Reagan.

I'm not at all surprised by this result, either. This is the south, this is blue collar work, and the rightwing mounted a campaign to keep the union out of this plant. And it worked. The workers got what they wanted, hope it works out for them.

I don't know if these workers have recall rights, if they have seniority rights, etc., etc., but a central bargaining agreement also works to keep work in the plant and not going to Mexico in the future.

I've got no problem paying my taxes if it keeps weak and inferior people like you employed and out of prison, I'd much rather you pay your own taxes than live in a cell on mine.

Kibby---Thanks for that brilliant education; the Detroit 3 and all of their supporters had to be furious when Honda opened that new plant in southeastern Indiana, far away from the 'influence' of the UAW, where they can merrily crank out up to 250,000+ Civics per year, and have recently started making the new Acura ILX there as well.

Obama's ignorance as it relates to unions certainly explain why Chicago's population has plunged to a level last seen in 1920,, while a booming city such as Houston is very likely to pass them in population within 20 years; his harassment of Boeing was downright asinine, since he made a name for himself as a major-league rabblerouser just like Al Sharpton.

The relations between the UAW and GM were undoubtedly dreadful, but their was indeed plenty of blame to go around, starting with some extremely idiotic automobiles like the Cimarron and don't even get me started about the Fiero, although the Feds certainly didn't help them either with the first round of CAFE standards, which turned out to be a bonanza for Asian automakers.

That especially applies out here in import-addicted California, where foreign automakers sold almost 72% of the new vehicles sold in this state last year according to NBC News, leaving crumbs for the Detroit Three in the nation's most important and lucrative automobile market.

You got that right. The elections of 2008 and 2012 are proof of that.

Seriously.....this post makes you look far worse than him working for DoD. Someone does have to work for them and that they are very wasteful is far more the fault of politicians than those who work there.
