That being said...the statement is fairly accurate. Chinas having some issues with acting that way, but up til now they haven't brought their military into it, nor have they had a great ability to control other governments successfully. Eventually they will get better at that, or involve their military. Should be interesting times.

The Chinese aren't about to neglect Africa...they'll leave that to us.
They're gonna invest in the continent and watch it pay dividends....meanwhile, we'll invest in wars and nation building in nations that hate our guts. Oh yeah..and chasing Al Qaeda around the world like fools.
Are the Chinese "colonizers?" If you wanna call it that, be my guest. I'll call it being smart.

Agreed, if they were half way decent at it they'd already be going gangbusters over there. We REALLY should compete with them in this field better then we currently do.
As it is I think eventually they're going to face a loss in one of these countries that they refuse to accept, and their reaction to it will be interesting. international sanctions to force a repayment of debt would be their smartest move.

Their big play will be to move into the Afghanistan area after we leave and the fighting stops. They'll pay off Karzai, get the rights to mine some of the 2 trillion in minerals there and hire some Taliban tribal leaders to protect their mining operations. All given to them at no cost to them. We will spend the blood and treasure and they will reap the harvest of our efforts.
Chinese know how to play the world game and are very patient about it.

Yeah...we should. But say Africa, and America loses interest. Seeing as how we don't need to militarize it, send the CIA to kill some leader we don't like (Lumumba anyone?), or chase commies anymore on the continent, we've lost interest.
We've moved on to greener pastures. You know...chasing ghosts around Afghanistan and deposing dictators for non existent WMD. Cuz that's how we roll.

No, its not about "investing" in Africa with China, it is about China plundering Africa. They are there to takes its resources, they dont care about anything else.
Gold, diamonds, precious metals, even ivory tusks, if they can make money from it, they will, and they could care less about the damage that results.
They would make a Teabagger blush with their approach to plundering for profit.

Im really disliking you right now, because I suspect you are dead on correct with this. They can play that world game, and they will do that one well, but I've seen them make serious mis steps in Australia and various countries in Africa. The problems in Africa is that everyone wants a piece of the pie, and its just too hard to protect your operations. China is still struggling with that.

Maybe..But the Africans are to blame in that case since they control their own nations now.
Problem is, the plunder would only go into enriching the same old crooks on the continent.
But again, the U.S. could step into the breach and do something there.
