Lol really - the U.S has no need for the Oil and doesn't benefit from it... you sure.. You willing to bet on that? You do realize the U.S already imports more oil from Canada than any other singular country and it is already transported in pipelines from Canada to your refineries where it is sold all over the world including the United States and belief it or not back to Canada in some cases. Your businesses profit and your country benefits from the oil as does our country - a good thing among friends who have the largest trading relationship in the history of the world. Most likely you have used Canadian oil many many many times in your life and continue to do so everyday in more ways than you could possibly imagine and in practically every facet of modern day life unless you are Amish completely.
Canada is somewhat perplexed about the change in policy when the U.S still uses oil like a champ and is still not energy independent... the good thing about Canadian oil is if push comes to shove and North America couldn't rely on oil from the M.E or friendly (sarcasm) countries like Venezuela - we can always be assured we have the capacity for oil among friends. Well - we consider the U.S a friend last I looked
One final note - the economies of the U.S and Canada are soooooo intertwined it is impossible to say us vs them.. From an economic standpoint they are hardly foreign countries. In many instances Provinces trade more with other States than other Provinces and States trade more with other Provinces than other States.
