Why is the government choosing to not have a trade with Russia and the EU would make more sense to get the best they offer. Closing the doors over one nation or another brings problems.

I understand they know nothing of Washington or Jefferson but I think those words of wisdom would help them deal with issues like these. I see no reason any elected free government would think ONLY Russia will provide trade agreements to the needs of all its people.
