This thread is still ongoing? Ok I can't be bothered to read any of it, what is this thread about exactly?
Even if you believe that black people want to be white, an honest person has to get into what it means to be black or white and why we still endow so called races with characteristics/traits that someone could imagine themselves wanting to be those characteristics/traits associated with that race?
And if this thread is about why a person who is dark skin would try to become lighter skin, an honest discussion would get into the origins of the creation of race.
The classification of who is or isn't white has greatly expanded since the creation of race.
Yet the group now called white people used to be associated with a much smaller group of people called caucasians because the man who created the racial categories thought that the skull from Georgia near the caucus mountains was the most beautiful and perfect.
So literally the first distinction of what we now call the white race was based on the belief in superior physical beauty. So some individual people who grew up in such a society might react negatively to having darker skin.
Either way, this discussion leads back to white supremacy and racism.
My guess is the thrust of the thread is black people are messed up blah, blah, blah. The same ole same ole.
Maybe it's a "geographic" thing so you and TrtMT7 are both "right"? I ask because in places like NYC, Bullhead City and so many more Black ladies out of 100 DO "marry out" but not in most parts of the US. Too; word is the out marriage rate for even Black ladies is going UP and fast. God knows many Black dudes under about 40 have white wives in 2014.

problem is most of them don't stay married long because they have trouble remaining loyal. most of them abandoned their own kids so it's not surprising that black women are starting to smarten up and date outside their race.

there are just as many white people trying to look black or emulate 'black features;' as they are people of color trying to look white!
certain charateristics of different races are considered enviable by different people: full lips, bronze skin, and typical bontiful physiques of 'blacks'; fine textured hair, nose structure, and colored eyes of 'whites'; smooth skin, exceptional straight hair, and general youthful appearance of Asians; and an amalgam of these traits from Latinos and Middle-Easterners...

In regards to the bold above, research has shown that non-custodial black fathers are actually the LEAST likely to abandon their kids. They are more likely to visit and financially support their children when they are not in a relationship with the mother compared to white and Hispanic men.

What's up with whites that call black people "bro"? Whenever I see this, the black guy smiles and is thinking to himself " You phony white idiot, I'm laughing at you not with you". Then the white dude proceeds to attempt to speak more like said black person. People should just be themselves. When I deal with other races, I dont change my tone..and address them by either their first name, or sir/maam.
Also wanted to say ITA with this even though I don't agree with smitty that often.
It is funny and dumb and condescending to me whenever a white person tries to have some sort of "urban" flair. Especially since I am really nerdy and a straight up American person who rarely speaks any slang and doesn't keep up with all the lingo crap that other people may know.
I do think said person changing their tone of voice to speak to me like I'm an idiot or who calls me some sort of affectionate, stereotypical black moniker are idiots themselves. Fortunately though, I don't stereotype all white people like this, nor white liberals as they are usually the ones who do it lol. Most of them don't though, so they are "cool" with me.

There are a few on this board, that will remain nameless to avoid me getting banned, that are absolutely obsessed with race. They will parse every detail of every racial stereotype and reinforce the negative. They(he) is shoving racism down the throats of posters under the guise of intellectual discussion. All one has to do is see who the most frequent poster is, in this thread, to identify the perp. Just pick the obvious poster, based on the responses and click on that poster's history and you will have a catechism of racism with "Quadroon, Octoroon and other labels liberally sprinkled throughout his posts in various threads.
If this individual had their druthers, this would be the only thread in P&OC and it would go on for infinity.
