So was the American Flag back in the Revolution. I guess the winner gets to decide who's a hero and who's a Traitor.
Slavery might have been allowed to take place under the American flag, but slavery wasn't the reason for secession from Britain. And it was under the American flag of which the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.
Yeah right. How's that economy up north compared to Texas, Georgia or Florida ?
Overall the economy "up north" is much better than the South as a whole, a few cherry picked examples aside. What that has to do with the topic? I'm not sure.
Seriously, if you fly a Confederate flag, you are celebrating being a loser.

Actually, the economy in Georgia is quite dismal at this point. One of the highest unemployment rates in the nation. Mississippi is having a rough go at it too, Tennessee as well.
States with the lowest unemployment rates: North Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota, Utah, Iowa, Vermont, Wyoming, Hawaii, Minnesota, and Kansas.
No, but since the average lifespan of a slave was only about 45 years, likening slavery to the Holocaust isn't completely out of line.
My ancestors were enslaved by the Normans. Should I be offended by a French flag? Should I petition the French government for 40 acres and a mule in Normandy as reparations? Or should I accept that time has passed and none of it matters now?

The Emancipation Proclamation did not free any slaves in the United States.
Someone should submit a license plate design that shows two crossing whip scars so that descendants of slaves can celebrate their heritage also. After all, it was the same "heritage".
Of the six flags that have flown over Texas that rebel rag was not one.
Texas was part of the Confederacy and that flag was flown. In fact, the last battle of the Civil War was fought in Texas. The Confederacy won that battle ironically.
