Ok...you were born below some imaginary, made up Mason Dixon line.

What heritage is supposedly inherent by that act?

Southern Heritage obviously implies that there's a "heritage" for people born everywhere else in this country.

So for example...if I was born in Oregon, what heritage am I suppose to claim that I can brag about like an idiot and stamp on license plates?
The fact that our ancestors stood up for their states rights. Many fought against an invading federal army who were marching on their homes.

Sherman didn't exactly play nice when he marched, did he?

People focus on the slavery part. Slavery was legal, and as such people had a lot of money tied into slavery. Giving up your legal property without recompense is quite an absurd thing.

We see slavery as all bad today. But at the time, even many northern folks didn't want to fight the south, or the slaves to be free.

Are they only proud of their heritage when they are in their pickup truck? Why don't they get a confederate flag tattooed on their forehead and wear it proudly 24/7.

I don't like tattoos, but I have flown a blue flag with a white star at my house for years. Right below an American flag.

The "stars and bars" was really a battle flag. Blue flag white star is the secession flag. I like it better.

Fly the bonnie blue.

It's a simple question that no one ever answers.

What's so distinctive about the South or being from the South that's engendering all this so called "pride?"
Idk, probably has something to do with the Confederacy.

People that have nothing better to do worry about how a confederate flag is so wrong and racist ... Seriously , worry about yourself and what you like. Its not really that big of a deal unless your racist yourself and try to make it into a racist issue.

The doors to this country are open to leave if it bothers people that much.

Georgia approves Confederate flag license plates ? RT USA
Buncha wannabe Johnny Rebs still fighting the civil war they lost so badly 150 years ago.

What? LMAO...that's absurd. A hell of a lot of Southerners don't even have ancestors that stretch back that far. Buncha transplants.

And even for the ones that do..your heritage is based on a 4 year period in a nation that's well over 200 years old? And for a cause that was lost, ill advised, and stupid to boot? That's the sum total of your "heritage?"

As for Sherman, GOOD! He did exactly what he should've done...threw a world class BBQ. His guests certainly deserved it.

Well I do have family stretching back that far.

And many see what Sherman did as awful. I could be offended, but I'm not. You can be offended that I fly the csa flag, below my American flag. However, it is a free country.

That makes it even more laughable.

That's akin to me being 48 years old and defining myself through the glory of my years in junior high school. Lol
