Darn Italians.

Thank goodness for us Irish persons.

We made America.

I'm curious as to the testing and range of the watch. How easy is it to bypass security?

I have children, and keep loaded guns in a safe. But I think a gun I could only fire and leave out in a high place or near the bed, that my kids can't simply grab and use would be awesome.

This could help end mass shootings in High school from kids that grab their parents guns.

At least, it could after you ban all other guns and force their owners to turn them in.

Sounds like a plan. When will you start?

When the RFID-equipped watch is activated by a PIN number and placed near the gun — like when a shooter grips the handle — it sends a signal to unlock the gun and a light on the back of the weapon turns green, according to the report. Otherwise, the firearm stays locked and the light on the back remains red, it stated
I have several problems with this, but most people wear a watch on their Left Arm, but 90% of the general public is Right handed. What is there definition of "near the gun", a few inches or a few feet.

I also think the price is on the high side for $1400 for the gun, and $400 for the watch making it a $1800 dollar purchase for a 22LR pistol. At least they should do is make it in a larger self defense caliber.

Okay, for the sake of argument they passed it and it survives a constitutional challenge based on the second amendment (I could see it not)...why not just have people to vote in order to repeal the law?

Isn't that how democracy works?

PDs are interested- lots of officers KIA are killed with their own guns.

As the technology advances, smart guns could also greatly reduce accidental shootings involving kids.

Not surprised CA is leading the way here, as we do with all common- sensa gun regulations.

Well I would lock my other guns up separately from their ammunition. I may not even keep ammunition for those in my house.

But the gun only I could fire? Sure.

The first VCRs cost $1500, and the technology evolved very quickly.

Same thing will happen with smart guns.

And the way you would prevent everyone else's (normal) gun from being used in a mass murder is what.....?
