There you go.

You need to look at total compensation. Salaries are not the full picture.
LMAO...you'd think he would've known that.

Military members are compensated quite handsomely when their full package is taken into accept.

Geez..do these people wanna make them frickin MILLIONAIRES or something?

What other job does an an 18 year old walk into without a college education and leaves with a pension 20 years later..with his health benefits guaranteed for life?

I get that folks love our military, but they're getting carried away with this poormouth nonsense. GI's make a damn good living relatively speaking.

and that's based on the military pay scale that just took effect on 1 Jan 2014
You forgot about healthcare, housing, food, uniforms, and tax advantages. Military compensation has been found by the military to be in the 90th %itle of civilian compensation for similar jobs and work experience.

And yet a married E4 qualifies for food stamps.
I guess that's normal where you come from.
Stay in your lane, you're outdated in this subject.

Unless they have a zillion kids, there's NO REASON for a married E4 to need food stamps.

Their base pay, separate rats, BAH, and COLA is more than my son makes as a first year teacher with a grad degree.

That doesn't even take their medical, dental, and automatic half million dollar life insurance policy.

Stop with the b.s. and lies.

"In New York State, SNAP now allows you to have more money in a checking or savings account, or even a retirement account or college savings account, without affecting your eligibility for SNAP benefits. Most households applying for SNAP benefits no longer have to pass a savings/resource test in order to get SNAP benefits. This means that the household's assets (stocks, savings and retirement accounts, etc.) are not considered when determining eligibility. Please note that if you apply for SNAP benefits, you may still be asked to provide information regarding such resources."

Any of you spend $632 on food and groceries? I know we don't. And we are very comfortable upper middle class families. Give me a break.

How much you spend on groceries depends on what class you belong to?

I don't have a big family, but I suppose my parents spent that much or more adjusted for inflation when we were kids.

Well, then make YOUR own damn money. If you don't make enough money be happy with what government gives you.

Military benefits are not social welfare program.
