You need to study the 'case law' surrounding the 2nd Amendment.

"In the twenty-first century, the amendment has been subjected to renewed academic inquiry and judicial interest.[11] In District of Columbia v. Heller (2008), the Supreme Court handed down a landmark decision, expressly holding the amendment to protect an individual right to possess and carry firearms.[12][13] In McDonald v. Chicago (2010), the Court clarified its earlier decisions that limited the amendment's impact to a restriction on the federal government, expressly holding that the Fourteenth Amendment applies the Second Amendment to state and local governments to the same extent that the Second Amendment applies to the federal government."

In every anti firearm tirade you can count on the anti gun folks to somehow segway into genitalia. Wow!, talk about subliminal mesages seeping out of their frothing spit..... why is that so common among that group?

So a defense of firearm ownnership is considered extremist?

"You think everyone is out to get you and you want to start a revolution because you think the government is after your guns and something, something, something. This is just plain stupid----a bunch of paranoid wannabe soldiers tilting at windmills and wearing cammo."

The slippery slope argument is critical to liberal and social justice arguments but somewhere on page .222 of the socialist handbook, there is an exclusionary clause exempting the opposition from employing the very same slippery slope argument.

Libs claim the least probable outcome in the far distant future as the rationale for everything from saying the word 'gun' or drawing a picture of a gun in grade school and consder it a sure sign of an armed sociopath lurking in the heart of that 2nd grader destined for front page massacre fame.

Resistence to firearm registration, however, does not meet liberal slippery slope standards, despite historic documentation of registration leading to confiscation and loss of freedom.

Want an explanation?

It's a big country, over 300,000,000. You talk about "thousands" and that is probably right. A few dozen here, a couple of hundred there.

I'm afraid that just doesn't add up to enough to pay much attention to.

The media isn't paying attention to it, because there is NO effort on the part of the government to take away anyone's guns. As if that's even a top 10 issue right now for anyone.

It simply gives those with nothing else to 'struggle' against in their lives something to rally behind and have a cause celebre. To give meaning and kill the ennui brought on by pampered first world living.

Deluded fantasies for people who wish that something would happen that would actually make a gun important again. A Revolution, civil war, national disaster, zombie apocalypse... SOMETHING to give meaning to otherwise meaningless lives and make their "gun skills" relevant and important. It's why they are often found calling for "armed rebellion" whenever something minor happens, like when city hall doesn't properly plow main street.

Don't you libs have some baby killing and tree hugging to do today?
Obama has trouble with the first four Constitutional Amendments but those close to him sure like to plead the 5th Amendment!

Probably because these thousands didn't exist. Hell, I can see maybe 50 in one place...and the second pict didn't even have ten. Then there tweets with no pictures that claim thousands. Which has happened at other tea party rallies that were found to be outright false. Amazing how newstations stopped covering people that lie constantly.

Especially wingnuts that fear the government is just about to take away everyone's gun in part of a massive conspiracy. There's nothing to be gained from covering a bunch of nut cases that believe things not happening in reality. It's already happened with the birther bregade, which seems to be a similar crowd with the references to communism, Nazi's, and mean threatening black people on the signs.

Actually more guns are in circulation because gun stores have been praying on stupid people's fears that guns are just about to be taken away when Obama was elected...that has never happened. They keep spreading the stories because these idiots are making sure these store owners, and gun manufactuerers, have a nice lavish retirement.

I've never heard of an artist who broke into an elementary school and slaughtered dozens of innocent schoolchildren with his paintings. Gun fetishism is a sickness-----and very creepy.

I'm sorry, but all of you are probably anti-2nd amendment.

I personally believe that the underlying purpose of the amendment has been blocked by most people. Its for us to be able to defend our homes from our government and others, guns are no longer sufficient, People should be allowed to own tanks, RPG's, etc. And yet most people (including conservatives) disagree with me. They feel that its ONLY guns. While I admit...Even I feel the 2nd amendment has limits-no chemical, nuclear, or biological for example as those aren't required for self defense.

So no one is talking about restricting or taking firearms away from law abiding citizens? Tell that to folks in California, New York, and Connecticut.

California Passes Gun Control Bill Banning 'Assault' Weapons - Business Insider

New York State Provides Guidance on Banned Assault Weapons

Federal Court Says Connecticut's Aggressive Assault Weapon Ban Is Constitutional - Hartford Courant

Keep in mind that the semi-auto firearms that are being called "assault weapons" are not true full auto assault weapon.

Oh, and what about this?

Dianne Feinstein "Mr & Mrs America turn them all in" - YouTube

Yup...no one wants to take firearms from responsible law abiding gun owners...
