That is correct. Socialism presents many fronts, all with the same goal and intent. It can appear as benign and be quite misleading. That is what I meant by "many faces" of socialism.

So what are these faces of socialism that you are referring to?

There is a saying "Road to hell is paved with good intentions". Democrats and Obama are working hard paving that road, while their supporters happily marching on it without understanding where this road takes them to. Sad.
So true.

It is no wonder that Putin laughs at Obama. Of course he would like to have a happy citizenry, economically content with their lot such as it is, and still enjoy the prestige, wealth and power that comes with his position as President, hopefully for life if he can manage to maneuver it. But, I suspect that he knows all that is not possible under socialism -- not his type of socialism anyway.

"MOSCOW (SR) - Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has warned the Obama administration against adopting further socialism, saying Russian history clearly proves it is a recipe for failure.

"Any fourth grade history student knows socialism has failed in every country, at every time in history," said Putin. "President Obama and his fellow Democrats are either idiots or deliberately trying to destroy their own economy."

Economists say Putin's comments serve to illustrate how worldwide markets have made even economic adversaries dependent on each other's financial stability.

An Obama spokesman dismissed Putin's claim, saying, "We're going to do socialism better."

Scooter's Report: Putin: Obama "Idiot" For Adopting Socialism

I recall reading this piece elsewhere when it first came out. Read the Obama spokesman's comment above, which I bolded, then try to convince us all over again that the country is not going socialist.

Is there anyone better than Putin himself to recognize it?

Hahahaha.

Putin would never take an unmerited shot at Obama.

Socialist leaders and scholars on socialism the world over have told you again and again that Obama is nowhere near a socialist.

As far as Western politics go, he leans right for christs sake.

.
Spoken like a true Obama supporter; but you say that Putin's comments have merit but in the next sentence contradict yourself. Are you saying, then, that Obama is not a socialist, but is a Communist?

Obama isn't a socialist or a communist, he isn't even far left wing. He is a moderate liberal.

You all aren't even listening to Obama himself, nor those who speak for him, nor to Putin, but making up your own reality as you go along...your minds are made up and you don't you want to be confused by the facts.

Well that is completely inaccurate on your part, only the far right seem to think Obama is a far leftie.

Oh my god, I feel so bad for you. You really should read your link fully instead of stopping on a random Obama spokesman making this claim. I mean it is on the internet so it must be true. Or it is from 2009 and is a satire piece that you just totally believed as truth. Bummer. I wish I was there to give you a hug, and there is an important lesson for you to learn here from a famous quote.
