I do not support any proposed rule that takes effect during a game itself. However the league really needs to put a stop to the racial slurs. I mean they can't discipline the Riley Coopers using the N word but yet allow the black players to use it.

The NFL is not your average workplace.

Neither is Disneyland. If you have to dress up like Snow White or Goofy and play with kids it is still a workplace. And being such, there are rules of employment.

Do you think that when football and baseball players are heading out to the field they refer to it as a "playground"? Do basketball players refer to the court as a "playground?"?

Oh my...........yes they probably do refer to it as a playground. Do you know how incredible it would be to play a game to make millions. Yes the money is insane but it is still a "playground". Leave em alone. I don't hear anybody screaming who plays on those grounds..........all I hear is liberals screaming that it isn't right. Nobody makes them play..........they play because they want to......racial slurs or not involvled. They take care of that on the field........where it should be taken care of. Not by some official.

Why don't you folks go after soccer. I bet they scream racial epithets at others too. Go get them.

There was a thread about this when Riley cooper made that slur and someone made the comment that the NFL never comes after black people for doing it, now that the possibility is there, we liberals are just "whining"

also, they already went after soccer... and college football fans.

PC police, that is just stupid. You can't take the emotion out of the players, it will never happen.

I think there is a lot more actual "playing" going on in a Nike or Google Campus(Workplace) than there is on an NFL football field. I've done production shoots at Nike Campus and they can stop work anytime during the course of the day they choose and do a Bball pick up game or a quick set of tennis. On a whim.

Tell the third string offensive tackle with a knee injury that he's just been cut and see if he thinks it's a game.

I agree with West Coast Republican. If the NFL is going to clamp down on racial slurs in it's domain then it should be an individual thing and not a team thing. Fine the guy enough and within a year the slurs will go away. Personally, I'd like to see heavy fines for all the "Twerking" that receivers do in the end zone after a touchdown. It's really low life and cheezy, IMO.
Putting a 10 or 15 yard penalty on a team for a racial slur cam end up ruining a season and cost many people millions. A penalty is Too big an impact on the game. The impact should be on the offending player.

I got a thing about PC too. Enigma 777 gave me a clue.
PC is all about a respectful society. Respect by others for whoever you are and whatever your circumstances. What was common practice 40-50 years ago is frowned upon today. There's two sides to the issue. The PC crowd that believes that everyone is deserving of respect and there is the NPC(NonPC) crowd who feel that they should not be forced to restrict their language or demeanor for anybody, for any reason. They consider that whatever they say or do that is offensive to others is not their problem.

It sound hackneyed but I still believe old school thinking on the matter, "Never say anything you wouldn't say in front of your mother"

anyone who is still a fan of that league really needs to watch League of Denial. I guess they figure putting talking points out like this helps moves the talking points away from their greed and corruption .

that league is about one thing and one thing only, getting your money into their pocket, and they could not care less who gets hurt along the way.
