Budget cuts to slash U.S. Army to smallest since before World War Two | Reuters

Still the largest army on the planet,we also don't really know were the cuts are,in addition to that, the US is going to rely more on drones (cheaper than conventional aircraft, less personal needed, saving time, money)

Yes common misconception, China has the most troops.
their technology and equipment are a joke though, China could use some serious upgrades.

Sshhhh.... no need to worry about facts when they conflict with your point.

However, we do have the largest military budget in the world. Part of that is what we spend on weaponry, which is second to none. Another part is that we are an all volunteer force and that is much more expensive than draftees. (Although currently China has enough volunteers that they haven't actually drafted for years) And let's not forget North Korea with highest percentage of military members to general population in the world.

Spending cuts is the only option when tax hikes are not an option. Even after these cuts the US military is still by far the best and most powerful on the planet. From what I read they will invest on special forces and technology as opposed large size.

It's still larger though in terms of size. Although apparently some American Males are now trying to suggest that size doesn't matter - LMAO.

It's about time. It is unlikely we will ever fight a large land war again. We need to "right-size". Oh, the howling that the industry is going to do about this. The investment over decades of buying congressmen will be on the line. No one is going to give up the pork in their districts without a fight.
