Obama administration: Health law’s new rules will increase costs for most small businesses - The Washington Post

...not exactly a revelation, but now it's not just the right wing think tanks and blogs telling everyone what we already knew, it's actually the Obama administration.

The war on the middle class and average person continues.

Congrats, voters.

I can find a million blogs to say whatever I believe in politics.

However, the legislation says otherwise.

How can a mandate which only applies to employers with greater than fifty employees, hurt small businesses? Is 51 employees small?

If you have 49, you are not required to provide health insurance under the ACA. I know facts are annoying things...

1. Washington Post is not a blog. It's a liberal leaning newspaper.

2. "Small Business" is a term that is actually classified by the government. The limit of employees each company can have and still be classified as a small business varies according to industry, but for many industries, it is 500:

Guide to Size Standards | SBA.gov

So yes, 51 employees is very small according to the US government.

And by their standards, 2/3 of small businesses will be hurt by Obamacare.

You are the brainwashed one.

The mandate applies to businesses over 50 employees, and most businesses greater than 50 employees already provide health insurance.

Any business less than 50 employees is not required. Their employees can pick up health care on the exchanges. How does any of this hurt small business?

Here is some more information on the Report which Republicans ordered. It convenient forgets subsidies as do most of the people who post at C-D do. If the rates go up $300 per month but the employee gets a $400 subsidy is he paying more or less for insurance? The other thing is that it was a 2-1 ratio. In any one year you can figure half the people will pay more and half pay less.
