All good ideas, but we would have to increase security at authorized checkpoints as well.

Can anyone provide an example of a national border wall or fence in human history that was in excess of 50 miles long that preformed the function it was intended to?

I understand our need for border security, in fact it is a serious issue but really, a wall or fence?

Yes! With double bob-wire along the top.

I would think the inner German border would be an example of a fence/wall that worked.

It was over 850 miles long.

For me personally, I prefer a fence on my property. I don't like to see strangers on my land, call me selfish or paranoid but I don't. If there is a fence everyone knows where to be and where NOT to be.

I feel the same way about a fence across the boarder with Mexico.
