It is called white resentment. You won't see it among affluent white men... it is generally rural, lower income white men. They feel they are being oppressed. Their situation was identical 6 years ago but now a black man is in office, which shows that the white male is no longer the sole symbol of power in this country. Low income white men perviously could say "at least I'm a white man, so one of them (blacks, asians, latinos, jews, women) has it worse than me."

Again, I'm boosting and generalizing a bit... but you get the drift.

Really!

If you asked that question in 1955 Mississippi whites would say that they were.....so what is the point of asking it today?

PS

There are numerous controlled studies that have measured the propensity of racist beliefs and or behaviors in the American population. Do you have to guess what race showed the greatest propensity? The majority race did and does. Even if blacks were showed to be the most racist, being only 13% of the population and also disproportionately under represented in positions of power and authority, from which they could impact whites with their racism, the impact upon the white masses would be negligible. However, the reverse of the majority race being the most racist, while also being disproportionately overrepresented in position of power and authority, from which they can AND DO impact blacks, is potentially profound.

This question is like the Nazis asking the question in 1944....."who is the most evil.....the Nazis or the Allies".

The thread is less than 10 pages, and you didn't bother to read it? "Whites" don't have all of the power in the country. When divided into percentages, a greater percentage of a very small percentage of white people have more power than a very small percentage of black people. And even that is not the rule in every case. There are places where blacks have more power than whites (e.g. Autumn Pasquale and the Camden County prosecutor).

i don't see any discrimination in the work force, what i see with the black community has been brought on by themselves with lack of education, crime, drugs and the general lack of responsibility. It not what the white, asian, latino community doing to the black community, its what the blacks are doing to the blacks.

The term "racism" has been so misused over the years that is now can mean anything and everything. Criminologists say that the most accurate measure of crime is the murder rate, there isn't much to argue about when there is a corpse.
So, assuming racism is a crime, the question is do more blacks murder whites or vice versa?

Cab drivers make a living partially off of tips. That's why they're not picking up black people, because they generally do not tip as well. Common knowledge for anyone who has ever worked in a restaurant for tips.

It may not be fair but it's not racism, they're playing the odds to maximize their income. I guarantee you they're more likely to pick up someone in a suit vs. someone in basketball shorts too, regardless of race. If you're a cab driver are you going to pick up someone you think might tip you $20 or someone who might tip $5?

If servers were allowed to do the same thing they would be fighting over all the gay couples because they usually tip the best.

Also, most robberies and assaults on cab drivers are committed by Blacks, so they are also playing the odds in that regard as well.
