Right now it certainly does matter where they've invaded. Kiev is ethnic Ukranian; Crimea isn't so much. This thing will become much more perilous if he goes into Kiev.

I pointed out an article where the people of Crimea asked Russia for help.
Russia is only in Crimea.

Brilliant move on the part of Putin as he knows that the U.S. dollar is being dumped by the Chinese and others. America as been in stagflation for years especially since the banker bailouts of 2008. In the 80's under Reagan the Petro-Dollar was strong and the economy could be manipulated in order to show the Russians that our economy was strong compared to theirs. Then Reagan used the Star Wars (SDI) propaganda to back the Russians down as they could not engage in an arms race on the back of their weak economy. The cold war ended and Soviet economy collapsed and that was that. America has been on life support with QE for awhile. The FED has tapered the QE in an attempt to keep our currency from collapsing. Putin has all the advantage the we did back in the 80's. Go ahead and to something America. You are spread out all over the place and barely able to pay your bills and cannot do so without money printing. Putin knows we are going to have to commit to QE forever which will send the U.S. into hyperinflation. Brilliant move.

Where do you GET this crap? People like you have been hilariously warning of "hyperinflation" for at least the past five years. WHERE IS IT? In order to have stagflation, you need inflation, and there IS none.

It's a sign of weakness to invade to maintain political control.
Ah, so that is why the US has conducted all those invasions in the past?

If & when they dump those U.S dollars & they come back home you won't be able to spell hyperinflation fast enough.

You can't print money forever and have no effect.

Not saying it will happen now, but eventually it will.

Why leave? They were there long before Ukraine was a country.

Did the US state to Kosovo residents that they should "just leave"? No, the US went on a bombing campaign, and supported Kosovo's independence.

Exactly. For all the preening and posturing, that is what it all comes down to. Ukraine cannot defend Crimea from the Russians. Even if the west came to Ukraine's aid, which it won't, long-term Ukraine still cannot defend Crimea from the Russians. Time to move on.

A war with Russia can't be won. Fighting the Russians isn't like fighting the Iraqi's or anyone else.

Fighting the Russians is like fighting Americans, they will all get behind their country regardless of what political or personal ambitions each of them have. The difference is that while we'll be more concerned with the latest iPhone due for release, they'll be unwrapping cosmoline covered AKs and firing up very piece of heavy armament that will start.

There wouldn't be a nuclear war, period. The Russians know they wouldn't need nuclear weapons, the EU doesn't have any real military resources worthy of conflict, they show up only when the USA is in front.

The Germans aren't going to fight the Russians and neither are the French. The Brits might but that doesn't add too much. The rest of the EU? Are you kidding?

It would be the USA and the Russians and right now we are ill prepared to deal with the Russians. This would not be some war as we've come to know in Afghanistan, this would be a slugfest and since the 1st Iraq war we've gotten to the point where an old fashioned fist fight is beyond our capabilities to win. We have nothing there, there.

This is what happens when a country defers to the committee of the world every time it needs to do something militarily. We no longer fight to win, we fight to meet in dialogue.

Notice how the Russians don't seem to go around asking for coalitions to do anything? Does that mean they are right? Hardly but then what room have we painted ourselves into?

By the time we get a coalition together, this is all over. The Russians know Obama can't add diddly to squat without a year's worth of shuttle diplomacy. You think the Russians haven't watched how we became impotent on Iran? On Koldrea? On everyone else?

We went from walking softly and carrying a big stick to screaming at everyone while piddling around in pajamas behind the First Lady.

We now make promises we can't back up. Those are easy to make because everyone knows nothing comes of it. The Ukranians know.

How's that new world order working out?
