I consider myself a Logicrat....not guided by some insane and totally unworkable ideology, not guided by emotion, not guided by a lust for power, not guided by a filthy, wicked and disgusting desire to steal riches, NOOOOOO!!!! . I would like to think that I am mainly guided by logic and reason. People like me have no real say in the direction of this country.
I disagree, I would say that most people think like you. Honestly, I feel that we moderates are the silent majority.

I don't think most who consider themselves "moderates" are actually that. They simply aren't extreme partisans. If an idea that isn't exactly moderate sounds logical to them they will support it despite the party line position.
They don't change their positions based upon who is in office. That isn't being "moderate" that is being principled.

We are, absolutely!
Just for fun, I usually self-identify as a Libertarian because it confuses both my right and left leaning friends. In truth I'm all over the map when in comes to issues and basically I refuse to take politics seriously.
Election nights are the equivalent of professional sports playoff games: lots of fun and a good excuse to put out munchies and drinks and cheer for my favorite players, but the outcome seldom has any meaningful effect on my life.
Really the comments that you are referring to come from a handful of extremest on both side. As a rule of thumb, if you are getting insults from both sides, you are most likely being reasonable.
Take heart, OP. Centrists decide who the POTUS is. While both bases congratulate themselves foolishly, as neither realizes they offset each other.
That leaves the centrists, who decide the POTUS..every time.
Most people are not extremists, despite the big pac/super pac $ being thrown at negative ads, cable news entertainment, radio talk and internet forums.
