You know that in some cultures (past and present), men were/are ENCOURAGED to have sex with one another?

Present day: Etero culture

Past: Greeks, Spartans, etc.

In other cultures, being gay is an honor: Berdache tradition of some native americans.

Do you think the "internal conscience" was or is at play there? Do you think people growing up in that paradigm have the same "conscience" problems when society doesn't attach dangerous judgment and pressure, and instead EMBRACES difference?

It is commonly known fact that the more sexually repressed a person is, the more likely they came from a household that attached unrealistic expectations and moral baggage to issues of sexuality. Be it sex in general, or something like masturbation even!
Look, in the Middle East women are so desirable that they have to be kept under wraps to keep order in their society.

I wonder why it never occurred to the Islamists, as a humanitarian fix, to keep homosexuals under wraps, too. (The inverse of gay pride)

I guess it could cause some embarrassing confusion, though.

Course, the penalty for embarrassment in the Middle East is . . . DEATH.

And it's those who THINK God is watching every time they touch themselves in their "Lucifer's playground spot," or who have a sexual thought... who are the most screwed up!

Seriously, I have never understood those who subscribe to a version of God that is so obviously wracked with human emotional flaws and characteristics. Supposedly omnipotent beings who have always been and always will be do not and should not sound suspiciously like petulant spoiled human brats of high birth and wealth.

Pride, wrath... LUST (apparently!).... as if you need anymore of a clue that the god you're following was modeled after MEN!!!

Yes, seriously. Everyone (with very few exceptions) are born with a concience which helps us tell right from wrong, so we do know even if no one told us.

Sometimes people are pressured into something, and they might do it even if they knew it is wrong. Look at the street gangs, they pressure each other to commit crimes and they all know what they do is wrong.

Larry Flint's first sex act was with a chicken.

I don't think he was pressured into it.

Probably just circumstantial morality.

This theory is based on.... your research as a neuropsychologist? As a psychiatrist?

Or your weekly bible study?

Do tell.

"Majority of Americans still say gay sex is immoral"
I'm not sure what your point is - that majorities hold the correct view?
That majority is only 51% - down from 62% in 2013. In the next few years that majority will be a minority.
Right wing politicians better scramble as they only have another year or two left to get their anti-gay legislation through. They are already relics grasping at last gasp legislation.

I don't consider it a moral issue truthfully. I may not understand it, but I certainly don't understand how people can find it immoral.
