Your actual kids or the children of the U.S.?
Sorry, I meant THE Ozzie and Harriet generation... I didn't mean to imply YOU were that old.

Here's an article from last month in the WSJ, indication childhood obesity is down 40% in the US over the last 10 years. One of the factors cited is improved school diet and exercise programs, like Michelle Obama's:

I would love for parents to be responsible, but public schools are tasked to teach kids whether or not the parents are responsible. If an underfed or ill fed child can't perform in school, who gets the blame? The teacher and the school.

Those figures reflect 2 to 5 year old children. I would think their parent(s) had a lot to do with their eating habits. It doesn't mean these children need to eat lettuce and carrot sticks grades 1-12. And I bet they get a treat, such as pretzels or a biscuit/cookie., which will stop once the food police get them in school.

How about parental responsibility to the child?

Oh, I know....you don't know or understand how that works, you obviously need someone to tell you that...

Why would the school or the teacher be to blame? If the parents would be a parent, the child would not be underfed....right?

School districts voluntarily participate in the program.

Hungry people find it hard to concentrate on school work, and educating children is more important than placating Republicans.
