Nothing a federal state, county or municipal government can do to save obsolete business.
That's correct.
Radio Shack was very slow to change. While it's current competitors were refining their supply ordering systems, Radio Shack did not. As a result, the Shack's best selling items always tended to sell out and weren't replaced quickly enough in their stores at the time when the items were at their hottest.
By the time their stores received more of the items, the bloom was always off the rose. Customers had found similar items in competitor's stores.
Retail electronics is always full of ups and downs. Things always change suddenly. Look a Blackberry; 4 years ago, it owned the cell phone sector, and now they can't give one of their phones away.
Sony invested heavily outside their business and didn't stay on the leading edge of electronics, so now they're in trouble.
The real miracle is Radio Shack lasting as long as it has. It's business model was created in the 60's, and they had a lot of competition from others who were just like Radio Shack, and all of them are gone now except for the Shack. Times change. Radio Shack didn't.
RadioShack is garbage, they are way over priced and barely have anything. They should of kept up with the times and listened to what people want or need .
But then again , this is a real ****ty thing to hear. Wish the employees the best of luck in this economy .
They have always been a sort of etelectronic hobbyist store
It's Obama's fault that people are buying stuff online?
Nothing is ever Obama's fault. Haven't you learned anything from the first five years of his failed Presidency?
