Asking this question identifies you as someone unlikely to understand the answer, but let's try.

Taxation comes in many forms other than simple income tax, and each one affects the poor more negatively than the wealthy who have more than enough wealth to absorb the increases, but the sad truth is, they don't have to absorb those increases. They just pass the increased costs to the consumer in higher prices. In fact, they often PROFIT EVEN MORE.

You see, big business operates on percentages ... margins ... if their target margin is 10% profit, that 10% will also be calculated and added to the tax increase, meaning that you the consumer will not only pay 100% of theincrease, but often, 110% ....that will be true so long as the consumer can and does continue to purchase the products. If the prices increase beyond the levels to which the consumer can afford and is willing to pay for the products, the decline in revenue will simply be offset by a subsequent reduction in production and costs (most often in the form of reduction in labor ... loss of jobs).

A classic example of this phenomenon is the SHIP tax on tobacco. While the tax was obnoxiously high, producers just added the tax, plus a healthy bonus to the costs of tobacco products. States jumped on the bandwagon to get their share of the windfall ... some states and cities more grossly than others, which can be seen in a pack of cigarettes costing $6 in Austin Texas, while the same product costs NYC citizens $12 a pack.

Gas tax, tobacco tax, alcohol tax, CO2 tax, sales tax, excise taxes, fees, regulatory taxes, payroll taxes, Obamacare taxes, insurance taxes, property taxes, inflation taxes .... and still, the idiot sheeple ... the first group in history that don't think we pay enough taxes, and continue to demand more? The insanity truly is indescribable.

When I was a young man, one common joke about taxation was that government would tax the air we breathe if they could figure out a way to do it .... little did we realize that they were working on that very problem as we laughed, and now we have the great global warming hoax, and the tax on the air we breathe ... all to the cheering crowds of nitwits who think taxes will save the earth from destruction.

The moral to this sad story is, never underestimate the stupidity of people ... just when they get smart enough to stop buying "pet rocks" for $5, when they could have just grabbed one off the ground and gave it a name themselves ... for free ... there will be a dozen more schemes to separate the fool from his money, with taxation seemingly impervious to logical reasoning that would otherwise understand that they are only beneficial to the taxer, not the taxee!

Anything here light up that bulb for you? Or do you still feel keeping less of the money you earn, and paying higher prices for the things you need is a good thing?

Yes, it is a long term problem that has amplified the last 6 years. I'll note you still haven't addressed any of my earlier posts.

Isn't All Time Record Quantitative Easing under Obama trickle down on steroids?

Is the Obama era more trickle down than the Reagan era?

Oh, no! These tariffs have been brought down because these are OUR, AMERICAN companies that produce goods in China or Vietnam using child labor and ignoring environmental impact....
Why? Because Globalism was simply a ploy to circumvent American labor and environmental laws.

Look at the end result? The middle class has been decimated and good paying jobs in manufacturing are gone. Congratulations, Mr. Clinton. Great job! Followed by another great job by Mr. Bush jr, who pulled a carpet from underneath millions of Americans by creating and then blowing up the housing bubble.
It took just two administrations and two presidents, a Democrat and a Republican to ensure that the American way of life was gone. It went faster than anybody thought was possible, while our attention was focused on impeachments, 9/11, terrorists, Iraqi Freedom etc etc Anything but what was really happening to American economy!

Congratulations to all the dupes who believe that there any significant difference between democratic and republicans politicians. Lets keep arguing over Ukraine, Egypt, gay marriage or abortion while politicians, paid by Big Money, keep on dismantling the structure that made the American dream possible. Let's go back to the glorious days of 1850's capitalism.
Great Post...you are non-partisan.

Bill Clinton championed many policies that damaged the economy (China into WTO, permanent trade deal with China, NAFTA, deregulation of Glass-Stegall, etc).

Bush championed many policies that damaged the economy and did not fix prior problems.

Liberals Excellent Read ^^^^^

Excellent! post. Seriously, Obama supporters need to study this and the last post you made. Many people tried to explain this to them but the word has been passed down by Obama and they have shown a lack of ability to open their minds past what they are told to think.

It would be easier to list the ones that did not ... that would be zero.

For starters, foreign policy ... specifically war ... the increased involvement in Afghanistan ... the increases in Drone attacks in and around Pakistan ... the arms assistance to rebels in Egypt, Libya, Syria, and military activities in other less publicised places all have offered handsome increeases to the military industrial complex that are owned by the wealthiest of the wealthy ...

Increases in domestic security activities also feed this complex of weapons and security suppliers.

The vastly excellerated and elevated levels of Hundreds if of Billions of dollars to the gangsters running the financial system ... the bailouts and quantitative easing consisting of 80 Billion per month in your money to Billionaire bankers ...

ObamaCare, and the resulting boom in stock values of insurance companies who are not owned by poor people ...

The expansion of regulations governing the energy sector, and the subsequent increases in energy cost, as promised by the Taxer-In-Chief himself when he openly declared that his energy policy will necessarily cause electric bills to skyrocket .... which in turn causes prices of everything to increase because everything produced uses electricity in production ....

Is that enough ... or do you need more examples?

Yup!

Obama like his predecessors though are just continuing to carry on the same work that the puppet masters demand. Many of these presidents attend Bilderberg Meetings prior to inauguration where they meet the people that call the shots and are told what the agenda is.

Notice how not one of these cockroaches try and reverse any of the previous policies put in that they railed about unless their masters can profit off of it? Like Glass Steagal?

You will NOT see a Republican Administration reverse Obama Care and you will NOT see a Democratic Administration reverse Banker Bailouts because they were already bought and paid for by the elite in these Corporations and Banks.

For the life of me I can't understand how those who complain about the growing wealth gap aren't storming D.C. over this. They just want to complain it seems and blame those who are benefiting as opposed to those providing the benefits.

Do you complain about people accepting the give aways or the one giving it away?

Thanks ....

What we have is the full unabridged roll out of Orwellianism, right before our eyes, with a significant element ofthe population "mesmerized" by words from a trained liar.

One video clip of Obama was quite illustrative of this technique ... he was at the podium citing our unailianable rights as Americans that cannot be denied by government or a man ... then finished by saying "now I'm going to sign those orders" referring to executive orders, which are nothing short of kingly decrees, which are the most egregious violation of seperation of powers and the direct bypass of constitutional processes of law making.

Virtually everything this man does can be defined in "believe what I say, and pay no attention to what I do".

He shakes his head no, as he speaks the word yes ... he points his finger up as he says the word down.

I have never witnessed a single person in my life .. president, politician, lawyer, newsman, or average Joe lie so blatantly, and so consistently and repeatedly .... while the crowd cheers every word that comes out of that forked tongue mouth.

I'll tell you how it would go.

All those protesting the policies in DC that are contributing to this growing divide would be labeled by Big Media as Filthy Hippies that need to get a Job!

Then, they would zero in on incidents among the thousands in order to paint them how they wish to the American People.

What needs to happen is to Boot out the Bankers and Big Corporate Captains out of DC and have them hit the streets with picket signs and protests like everyone else, instead of the buying of politicians and having them on speed dial to cater their every whim.
