Hahahaaaa from you link:

NRA does not oppose new technological developments in firearms; however, we are opposed to government mandates that require the use of expensive, unreliable features, such as grips that would read your fingerprints before the gun will fire.

I think smart guns is a terrible idea... ONE watch for ONE gun... what they should of done was ONE watch for ANY gun... that would help keep accidental or unintended discharge of a gun... I am pro-gun but okay with that kind of regulation... of course, we would have to worry if the government tries to tamper with it...

Nice try, but.... Fail.

Where in that link does it say that the NRA's official position is that we can't let anyone sell smart guns because then they will be mandated for everyone?

It doesn't.

The focus of that link are city and state law enforcement agencies urging gun manufacturers to adopt their brand of "gun safety" measures before they'll give them a contract. The link also focuses on the potential reliability issues that could arise with smart guns, which you would know, had you read your own link.

It's been the law in New Jersey for twelve years. You don't think that other states will follow, once the technology is in mass production?

So why did the NRA, on its very own website, publish an article including a statement that "[smart gun sales] have the potential “to mesh with the anti-gunner’s agenda, opening the door to a ban on all guns that do not possess the government-required technology"?

Hmm?

I agree. It's childish, but that's par for the course when everyone can hide behind their computer screen and post anonymously on the internet.

Were people actually coming in to his store and threatening to kill him? If so, that's another story.
