There's no obsession with Putin. The guy is wiping the chess board with Obama, and anyone with a brain can see he's attempting to rebuild the USSR. The very minute Obama announces he's going to cut our military Putin invades the Crimea. What is wrong with our politicians, are they brain dead? First Georgia and now Ukraine.

Once this do nothing President does nothing, every foe (Iran, N Korea, China..etc.) will perceive the US and being on its knees, drawing meaningless lines with crayons.

We have become more anal and pathetic than when Carter emasculated the US.

It is beyond "creepy" now! It's like they are having a "orgasm" over Putin who would probably take your Guns away!
What is the fascination over him?

Did they forget that Putin is a Communist?

Conservatives will be threatening to move to Russia after Hillary stomps them in 2016.

We should set up a fund to help them move.

** Do-nothing Obama?? Maybe you should talk to your obstructionist repub do-nothing Congress. They are no longer part of government??
** Yeah, the awful Carter. We need more "unemasculated" conservatives like GWB who, for their own political capital and their corporate base, kill good patriotic young Americans in trumped-up wars. That's what the country needs - back to 2008 and republicon control!
What a sorry, evil bunch this American right wing is!

I do.

More to the point, ask yourself what the specific Republican complaint is about the entire Ukrainian situation. They can't identify it. There isn't one.

It's just this child-like meme created by Republican strategists to capitalize on low IQ middle American obese Republicans and their masculinity issues.

Obama wears mom jeans! Putin is hard like rock!

Get rrrr dunnnn!!!!

What exactly did Obama do wrong? They have no idea. He's just, you know, "weak."

They can't even spell Ukraine let alone offer a real specific criteria of how to handle it.
Six pages and counting, not a single response.

The Republican establishment is one big Washington PR Firm-generated meme for the lesser-thinkers.

Since they both were not born in the United States, neither is eligible for the Presidency.

Ah, I have noticed American conservative fascination with Putin as well. Take away a few of Putin's bad ideas and he is the man many of them would like to see in the White House. They would not like paying tribute to Putin, but to make it in the U.S. a politician could not be so crude as to siphon/extort $70 billion for personal use - he would need to spread it among many more friends than Vladimir currently does and be content with reaping millions rather than tens of billions - but I'm sure being a politician he would adapt to those national customs and a few others while still laying the smack down on 'the enemy'. Besides, in addition to being the only head of state to essentially thumb his nose at Obama, in many eyes of those in question, who looks like the more ideal American President?

Exactly...
He fudged it up by getting involved. From CIA meddling to the present escalation and foolhardy bravado all has been imprudent. That said, a typical Republican would be just as bad or worse. The only way Obama could have avoided this is to not have instigated or supported the coup from the start. It's cringe worthy to listen to the rhetoric coming from Washington...all the talk about not invading other countries on 'trumped up pretexts' to claiming that a probably genuine Crimean desire to vote for secession is unconstitutional and intolerable while overthrowing a democratically elected president two months before scheduled elections is A-OK. It's just business as usual for a government addicted to picking and choosing who they want running other countries, from Iran to Cuba to Nicaragua to Iraq (and several dozen more).

You can pick any of the last 10 (or more) presidents and transplant them to the 2014 Oval Office and if what happened in Kiev happened, then Russia would do at least what they've done so far, if not more. No president would be a deterrent and if they pushed the issue too far we'd have a major war. They want at minimum Crimea and the port. I don't care if Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, and Ronald Reagan all combined were the U.S. president it wouldn't deter Russia from stepping in and saying "That land is ours".
