"Obama voters suffering most from income inequality"

A lot of people got hammered at the end of the Bush administration. We are a democratic republic, we vote, and if millions feel like they've got b&%&^ slapped by our new world order, folks get voted out and in. The reason Obama got elected is so very simple....McCain and the biggest doof of them all.

Poverty rate increasing under the Obama Admin... record high numbers of Americans on food stamps... how's that working out for our country?

Which Obama policy is responsible?

It's so amusing to see conservatives constantly regurgitate this garbage. We let Bush screw up the economy then use Obama as the scapegoat, obstructing him at every turn. Pathetic.

It's NOT the high income earners who aren't paying their fair share. Proven fact.
I would agree to disagree.

The top 1% doesn't pay enough taxes in my mind. They pay far less as a percentage (effective tax rate) than the average wage earner and that needs to stop. I don't give a damn if they pay 50% of the total income taxes or 99% of it. Everyone should contribute an equal portion of their individual income to taxes, period.

And I'm not referring to the poor souls of the $100-400K rates. I'm talking about the Buffet types.

You can look at those figures 2 ways. One is it's all Obama's fault, or the economy was so bad, that it rivaled the great depression. Having lived through many recessions, this one takes the cake by far. So, would McCain or the doof have done a better job pulling us out of the depression-recession? One being just like a democrat, the other a venture capitalist? My belief is no.

Not a proven fact. Once again, you equate someone's worth by their dollar share. How does it feel to be a blind apologist of the 1%?

(CNSNews.com) – President Obama has characterized income inequality as “the defining challenge of our time,†prodding Republicans to come up with “concrete plans†to reduce it.
However, a new study by the Brookings Institute shows that the highest levels of income inequality in the U.S. are found in Democratic strongholds: the nation’s largest cities.

In his Dec. 4, 2013 speech, “Remarks on Economic Mobility,†Obama praised the New Deal and the War on Poverty for building “the largest middle class the world has ever known,†and lamented “a dangerous and growing inequality and lack of upward mobility that has jeopardized middle-class America’s basic bargain – that if you work hard, you have a chance to get ahead.â€

The president challenged congressional Republicans to come up with “concrete plans that will actually reduce inequality, build the middle class, provide more ladders of opportunity to the poor.â€

But the highest levels of income inequality in the nation are in cities that voted overwhelmingly to reelect Obama in 2012

And, it turns out, the cities with the highest levels of income equality also happen to be the same places were Obama won some of his biggest victories in 2012.

“In 2012, Obama won 69.4 percent of the vote in cities with more than 500,000 people and 58.4% of the vote in cities with 50,000 to 500,000 people,†UrbanCincy reported. The final popular vote total across the nation was a lot closer: 51 percent for Obama, and 47 percent for Romney.

Atlanta, which Brookings says has the nation’s highest level of income inequality, is the ninth largest metropolitan area in the U.S. The City of Atlanta straddles two counties, and both went for Obama in a big way in 2012. Obama beat Romney in Fulton County 64.1 to 34.4 percent, and pulled in 77.6 percent of the vote in DeKalb County compared to Romney’s 20.9 percent.

And this is news why?

Of course they do, that's why it is such an important issue for them and for the president.
Are these results supposed to suggest that the income equality is a result of the way these people voted?
If so, I've got a bridge to sell you.

It was this way long before Obama even thought about running for president, not that anyone on the other side would ever acknowledge it.

The fact that it is being acknowledged now is solely because they think they can blame it on the president.

Anyway, in other news, water is still wet.

Obamacare? Any of the other economy stifling Obama Admin policies? Mix and match.

How is it that you are surprised that Obama's and the Dems' economy killing policies are actually killing the economy and jobs?

The changeover in our welfare programs from asset testing/verification to the "soft testing" using broad-based categorial eligibility (BBCE).

Under BBCE more people qualify for welfare benefits.
If you qualify for one program you automatically qualify for the others regardless of assets/income because you now fit into a "category" and don't have to be verified.

Obama sold it as people making $200k were the tycoons with 5 luxury cars, mansions and a life of vacations in Europe. He knew damn well that was a lie but when someone makes $50k its easy to buy into Obamas lie.

Obama is worth over $12.2million, Michele Obama net worth is $11.8Million, Pelosi is worth $35Million, Reid's net worth is $5million and everyone except for Michelle gets paid hefty sums upon retirement.

Do you really think they would vote to raise taxes on themselves? Pelosi complained about a congressional pay cut for god sake. Anyone naive enough to think they actually give a damn is a damn fool.
