In before mentally ill rage-filled conservatives rail about how soft "liberal environmentalists" "care more about whales than humans" or some other strange creation.

It's the circle of life in the ocean and we should not interfere. We should also not capture them for are own amusement. If people get hurt it's their own fault. They are not pets. Why in the world would we put these incredible animals in cages just because you don't like them. I'm in awe of them.

For the same reason I would smash a stink bug under my shoe - it's the circle of life and I don't like them. We feed dogs, give the shelter, and keep them as pets for our own companionship. Why not feed, shelter and keep a killer whale or our own amusement? It keeps other whales safe, gives us amusement, gives the whale food and shelter, and gives it an opportunity to learn.

Yeah, and you probably eat the unborn children of chickens...Every creature has to eat...Do you expect orcas to eat seaweed?

I have to assume this is a joke, right? I simply refuse to take this as a serious argument.

Good. I'm so tired of hearing about Orcas being locked up and forced to perform shows for all the myopic yuppies that for some reason are really that ignorant that they don't know how these animals are being treated. Orcas, in fact all animals, belong in the wild. It's time everybody woke up to that fact.

Wouldn't you think that there would have been a law made many years ago against keeping dogs tied up in your yard or in those small runs made for them? Birds kept in small cages so they can't even fly? Veal calves kept inside in stanchions?
Or is it just orcas that merit such action?

Me either. Orca's don't belong in captivity.

I'm all for such laws.
