Two intersecting arcs. One satellite received a ping from the engines. If there was ping at 3 satellites we could triangulate but as it was only one, based on the orientation of the satellite's antenna, we only know the distance from the satellite. Draw an arc. Rule out areas too far east or west as the plane would then also have been picked up by other satellites. Intersect this arc with another arc - based on the time of the ping, the last radar location of of the plane (over Malaysia) and it's typical speed. The 2 arcs intersect over Kazakhstan and an area in the south Indian Ocean. Debris was found in this southern intersect area.
What evidence made them change from focusing west of Malaysia to now far east near Australia?
US satellites have images of 2 large pieces of debris off the west coast of Australia..... it could of crashed well north of that and floated down there

The images are labeled "more credible" by NTSB. Those released to public are not nearly as good a resolution as the searchers are looking at.
Plane is down by Australian now when we were being told it was hijacked to Pakistan. Just unreal.
Whoever guessed Pakistan was someone who is completely ignorant to the facts. I don't see how anyone could possibly dumb enough believe that such a large aircraft could pass by all the Indian and Pakistani radar on a border that has high radar coverage.
The idiots saying this make me laugh considering there are no airstrips in Waziristan that can handle a 777. Besides, Pakistan and US have good radar coverage in this area. Anytime a US UAV crosses the border PAF knows about it and tracks the aircraft.
Can't believe how people are falling for such nonsense, if you don't believe me do your own research about which airstrips can handle a plane that large.
