Most news outlets seem to have assumed the plane crashed, but I always suspected something else could have happened, and I just read an article that the plane kept communicating with satellites even hours after it was missing, so I think the stolen/hijacked plane theory is still plausible.
Either way I hope they find out soon what happened. I can't imagine how awful this must be for the people whose family and friends were on that flight.
Wouldn`t a terror group want to claim credit for this deed if they did it? Not much point in committing a terrorist act and not telling anyone.
The objective of a terrorist is to create chaos and destabilization.
Terrorist cells tend to act independently today, and they are not necessarily affiliated with any central leadership organization.(see the Tsarnev brothers and the Boston Marathon bombing).
It is enough for the idea of terrorism to be present in the minds of a populace for a terrorist to claim success.
