The First Ever 2014 Cadillac ELR: Poolside - YouTube

Did anybody else find that recent Cadillac ad repugnant? - Democratic Underground

After Barack Obama saved GM, how dare they? Pretty provocative ad, in any case. I ascribe to the dictum that advertising is the antennae of US culture. I can't remember who said it...maybe it was Marshall McLuhan.

LOL... When that add ran during the SB, I couldn't believe it was real. It plays like a SNL parody of "real Amurica". Unintentionally high larious. Then, you realize- Cadillac HAS to lay it on with a trowel, to compensate, because... the add is for an ELECTRIC CAR!!! How f****gty can you get???

Yes, the ad's a classic... but not for reason you think.

What is " f****gty ?" I googled to find words ending in 'gty' and was told,
Sorry! Could not find any words!

Germans take August off, have family time, and make better cars.

Originally the commercial had a blinged out Escalade, but that was too much even for Caddy's marketing chief.

Hilarious, tongue-in-cheek ad. I really liked it but just for our less educated, conservative posters, here is a little trivia from Forbes:

In 2010, Germany produced more than 5.5 million automobiles; the U.S produced 2.7 million. At the same time, the average auto worker in Germany made $67.14 per hour in salary in benefits; the average one in the U.S. made $33.77 per hour. Yet Germany’s big three car companies—BMW, Daimler (Mercedes-Benz ), and Volkswagen—are very profitable.

How Germany Builds Twice As Many Cars As The U.S. While Paying Its Workers Twice As Much - Forbes

I am waiting for the conservative outrage that Germans can be more successful than Americans, while paying auto workers twice as much. And taking August off, too.

Cadillac ELR Wasn't Originally Used In 'Provocative' Ad

DU is such a dump and is clearly full of morons, as your link shows. I couldn't care less about the add, but god are those people whiny on that forum.
