Crimea (THE COUNTRY) will hold a referendum Sunday on whether the peninsula should become a part of Russia or remain within Ukraine.
The public poll follows a unanimous vote by Crimea's local parliament in favor of leaving Ukraine for Russia.
Both President Obama and Secretary of State Kerry called the referendum illegal
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov talked on the phone Tuesday about their respective countries' ideas about resolving the Ukrainian crisis, a day after Lavrov announced that Kerry had postponed a face-to-face meeting with Putin, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"Russia emphasized the need to respect the rights of all Ukrainians and all regions while looking for ways of solving the crisis and the need to respect the rights of Crimea's citizens to determine their destiny by themselves in accordance with the international law," the ministry said.

I would like to know from the "Cons" what "masculine" qualities President Obama is "lacking"? He killed Bin Laden and saved General Motors.
Besides the fact that Putin is a man's manly man and Obama is a mincing girlie girl who acts like a girl, there's one more difference between them that must account for why so many American conservatives rhapsodize about Putin's leadership qualities. Can't quite put my finger on it, though.

Obama is taking a poll among the low information voter mob before deciding which country to support...employing the so called "leading from behind policy." Effective as a way to keep power but epic fail on determining what is a good long-term policy.

Ah the XL pipeline that the Chinese want built since it will increase the US fuel bill by several billion dollars a year, will increase US oil imports, and do nothing to reduce the cost of gasoline but instead increase since it will divert oil away from US refineries.
US refineries btw sued to stop the construction of the keystone XL. Not environmental groups. No US oil company is behind Keystone XL it's all foreign oil companies who will export that oil to Latin American countries. None of that oil is going to the US. It's an export pipeline.
