Who benefits most from our relationship with Pakistan? Egypt? Jordan? Ukraine? We pay some of them just not to blow us up, but does anyone start a thread whining about that?

Better off having Israel on your side than not on your side.

if we were already at war i could see your point. but we aren't.

having Israel as an ally just increases the chances we'll be dragged into a war in some godforsaken part of the world that has nothing to offer us.

It's only because of Israel that we have a "side" in the first place.

Israel is a leader in Technology - they invented the Drones, were instrumental in tele-communications and medical advances. The US and Israel are partners in several ventures.

As to the "money" we send Israel, most of it is Loan Guarantees left over from their recession years ago. There has been a lot of talk in Israel about getting rid of those Loan Guarantees - there is also the Money from the Treaty signed with Egypt. Both countries use that money to buy American planes and weapons. Perhaps we should get both countries to agree to just cancel the Funding.

I don't understand all this "anti-Israel" stuff, and never have. Anti-Semitism is on the rise in the USA and in the world. I would not say the "US-Israel relationship is very close". I think that both Obama and Netanyahu try to put a 'happy face' on it, but these men understand each other and don't like each other. They essentially have a 'stand off' as they both have a lot to lose if there is a serious break.

Obama doesn't really have the experience or the temperament to go against a man like Netanyahu.
The O has not enjoyed his dealings with Netanyahu, I don't expect that to 'change'.

I also don't think the Leftists will ever stop with their "Blame Israel for all the troubles in the World".
