I am sorry, but all of the evidence suggests that the majority in Crimea favors Russia over the Ukraine.

They poll every year and the result is always about the same - only 40% or so are interested in any reunification with Russia in the Crimean Province. That all 'changed' when the Russian soldiers invaded. Is everyone aware of exactly what questions were on this 'referendum'?

The status quo of remaining part of Ukraine was not one of the questions - they could vote for Russian annexation today or Russian annexation tomorrow. Those were the questions they voted on.
