This special election in Fla, was seen by dems and Republicans as a bellwether to how the 2014 elections will go. Democrats have the stronger arguments on wealth inequity and abortion and gay rights, but they have done the same thing as Republicans when it comes to shooting them-self in the foot by going way too far. Gun control lost them the 94 election big even though many try to spin it as it had little to do, but we all know it was the driving force [the Clinton crime bill that banned guns and magazines] that destroyed the Democrats in 94. They have again come out in force trying to pass gun control and they thought they were cute or smart or thought the right dumb enough to buy the "gun safety" BS. A rose by any other name. Then they started to push this whole lets give everything to the black guys, whites are bad BS. From Obama with is BS about Trayvon Martin could have been my son, to every time some white guy shoots a black guy in self defense its suddenly racism. But when Mumia Abu Jamal is sentenced to death for shooting a cop in the back of the head its also racism. You far left liberals will never win these arguments until more than half the country is black.
Just as Republicans will never push gays in to some closet again, or win the abortion is illegal totally, or the idea that less than 1 percent of the population owning more than 80 percent of the wealth is not a bad thing. They will never win this argument. But when you liberals come out and start to hammer guns, its going to cost you and cost you big. Just because you don't understand someone wanting a gun does not mean that many many people are as strong on their gun rights as some gay person is on his or her right to marry who they want. You want to bring out people from the wood work on one issue, hammer on guns and see where it gets you. Until one side learns this lesson we will see a tennis court back and forth of power. I for one am splitting my vote, democrat in the presidency and Republican in house and senate. Gridlock keep them screwing each other over not us.
