If you can eat them, what difference does it make?

I know it's juvenile but I laughed right out loud at that.

Hilary? Is that you?

By the way:

Although this case skirts the line, state officials stated there's no violation of the law with the store accepting the card for lingerie and other adult items. They added because the cash benefits are part of a federal program, Louisiana does not dictate how families spend the money of those cards, which could be less than $200 a month or up to $400 a month.
So we can't dictate how people spend their free money....but in another thread on here about ACA, we are being told how to spend our money to afford the so called "affordable" health care. So only poor people who get free money don't have to watch their spending, just everyone else who supports them with that free money and free health care.

Good to know, libs.

Still posting a load of *******s, I see. Somehow libs are at it again, screwing up the entire world, in your mind. The people who are getting those cash payments and are poor already get medicaid administered by the state of Louisiana. Obamacare has nothing to do with it.
Try not to be so mean spirited all the time. Everything is not the fault of "Libs" as you call them.
Based on the demographics of Louisiana, it very well could be right wing conservatives who buy and eat those panties once their mistress has worn them for a week or so.

This is sickening. Can't we just change EBT to be for meats, vegetables, fruits, soups and cereal rather than unhealthy and frivilous crap like soda, chips, energy drink and edible panties?

Sure the USDA could do that if they wanted to. But they don't want to so here we are.

Obama's off telling people to suck it up, cancel your cable and cell phone to pay your obamcare premiums and here we have the poor on welfare buying edible panties.

Are we (the US) screwed up or what ?

Do you mean how you are mean spirited when you attack successful people? "you didn't build that"

So it really doesn't matter if the state is conservative does it ?

From the OP article:

Retail stores must apply to the federal government if they want to accept the EBT cards as a payment type.
You are correct.

The state does not accept retailer applications for SNAP EBT cards and instead, provides a link to USDA.

Those retailers who accept credit/debit cards do not have to apply to accept non- SNAP EBT cards, regardless of the source, TANF, Unemployment, SSDI or the card holder's employer. ( Employers who outsource Payroll often give their employees the option of being paid by EBT. As I understand it, this method of Payroll is increasingly common in the retail, food services and seasonal employment, where the employee is less likely to have a bank account).

They do incur a fee when they use the non- SNAP EBT to withdraw cash from an ATM.

That a store advertises it accepts EBT does not automatically mean it accepts SNAP Link EBT card.

They should at least make them themselves. Surely edible panties are cheaper if made from scratch. Right?

Agreed. It really should only be allowed to purchase the food that has some nutritional value and should only be allowed at grocery stores or other markets that sell real food.
