Wrong, he was invited by a resident, which means he was lawfully there.
Dad had no legal right to kill him.
That defense is as stupid as "Pedestrians have the right-of-way," when a person gets killed while jaywalking. Sure, there's the law, and then there's the fact that despite the law the other person is in control of a piece of machinery that can kill you.
Minor or not, owner or not, it is her legal domicile. Which means the boy was invited, not intruding. No matter what Daddy thought, felt or believed.
Ask a cop. Dad can say no to anyone daughter invites over. He can throw anyone out, regardless of her wishes. If she invites someone over knowing it isn't allowed, well thats that.
I had a friend his wife was cheating on him. She actually had the boyfriend come over when he wasn't home.
My friend called the police and the boy friend was charged with trespassing. The boy friend knew the husband did not want him in the home.
I am 100% certain that teen knew that the dad didn't want him in the home at 2am. How could you not know?
The owner over reacted. Until their is evidence that the man lied, I'll side with he assumed the worst.
2 am a strange man in my daughters room? She is saying she doesn't know him? I am assuming intruder.

Never claimed dad had any legal right. I don't know what is fact or fiction. What I do know is 2 am a stranger is in the house and daughter denies knowing him. According to the police. Dad wasn't aware of any invitation.

I can't believe I have to say this again:
The daughter said that she did not know him.
Therefore, at that time, the dad DID NOT KNOW that the guy was invited. If the dad didn't know the guy, and the daughter is claiming not to know the person, then that IS AN INTRUDER.
It wasn't until later that the daughter claimed that she did actually know him.
Again, sit there in your little armchair and declare that you knew better, when you weren't the one being told that there was someone in the house, AND NO ONE CLAIMED TO KNOW HIM.
I don't agree with you that a daughter inviting a boy into her room without the knowledge of her parents means that the father's belief that the guy is an uninvited stranger in his home can be held against him. He didn't invite the boy into the home, and when the father confronted them, his own daughter denied knowing the kid. It's tragic, but completely avoidable if the two kids would have taken care of business somewhere other than her bedroom with her parents down the hall. That is assuming that the father had never actually seen the boy before and the facts are as presented in the article. At this point, I have to go with what's reported. You guys are making conjectures with no evidence.
Glad you think having sex with a 16 year old is legal...
You are on a point that is wholly irrelevant, but carry on.
