Yeah my fourteen year old will be swinging around a shotgun. You are nuts or have no common sense. Maybe both. She did get nailed for havin mace at the football game. Blasted some punk ass............yep that's my girl.
Yes, macing people is much better than giving/getting an orgasm. Gotta love those decent American values!
Maybe in Maryland, Vermont or another liberal eastern state its not a big issue. But in Houston, Texas, if your in the castle unannounced...
Instant rehabilitation.
A good week for thinning the herd.
He was invited in by the daughter, who is a resident of the house. The dad didn't tell him "no" when he came in, so he had no reasonable idea that he'd get shot for being there. The castle doctrine doesn't count when you were invited in.
But these were not little kids. They were teenagers. I'm sure you didn't babysit your teens all night.
I don't care how old my kids are or will be. If they are bringing a guest to spend the night in my house they will ask for permission first. My house, my rules. What kind of rude, inconsiderate person just assumes it's okay to bring an all night guest without asking the homeowner first?
I mean it doesn't need to be a formal declaration, but a heads up is the norm. Like "hey dad Tommy's coming over for the night. If it's a stranger you absolutely ask first.

What? He didn't know? Then why did he feel the need to sneak in? Of course he knew dad wouldn't be cool with it. That's like saying someone didn't realize the the owner of the car wouldn't be cool with you taking it for a joy ride.
He knew dad wouldn't be cool. All boys know the dad won't be cool with a humpfest on their daughter at 2 am or at any time for that matter.
Anyone who would say the boy didn't know he was doing wrong is either a liar or delusional. That Boy 100% knew he was taking a hell of risk. He bet his life that he wouldn't get caught. He lost.
Dads are like bad tempered dogs. We know what that boy wants. The boy knows that the dad knows what he wants. About the only thing more disrespectful than what that boy did would be to nail the girl in the dad's own bed.
I think the girl AND the dad should get charged with murder. The boy's death didn't need to happen.
Reasonable doubt. Dad didn't know the boy. Wasn't made aware before hand that the boy would be there. The time of night matters. 2:30 in the morning and the daughter denies knowing the boy.
The dad over reacted. I good thumping and call the police would have been the right thing to do. Have the boy arrested.
The daughter is the villain in the story. Broke house rules, lied and created the whole situation. The boy was an idiot and a moron. Not a crime, but certainly an unhealthy condition.
