I care less what he has done or not. It's not about him. It's about the president lying to us over and over.

Don't forget about him doing a 180 on the availability of 'shovel-ready' jobs either; another one of his nonstop string of lies.

There has never been any, let alone absolute, assurance that anyone could keep their doctor or plan before or after ACA.

There was/remains absolutely no, zip, nada upside to intentionally and consistently lying about keeping your doctor and plan.
Are we to assume your President wasn't "shovel ready" for this either? People are losing healthcare and the President is like "Oh, Well!" Just what is he doing?

Really people losing their health care? Do you know anyone in your immediate family that lost their health care or had to renew their policy and pay a lot more? How about your policy? How much did it go up and how much did your deductibles increase? You are just repeating the same old Republican mantra unless you can put up some numbers.

Didn't you hear Romney explain this a million times.

My husband and I both got letters that our coverage didn't meet the ACA and we had to reapply. What cost us $400.00 a month, which was only catastrophic, has now gone to $1000.00 a month for both of us. We do qualify for the Obama subsidy which we haven't taken as of today or renewed our insurance. This is not affordable and we happen to be self-employed.

You are aware that self-employed people can write off their insurance. Plus with a subsidy on average it will probably be only slightly higher than it was previously. Under the ACA you cant be denied insurance and there is no cap on lifetime expenditures. So if we elect all Republicans it will be great you and your husband will get your policies cancelled, lose your subsidies, and have to fill out a 40 page application for insurance. Then you can wait around to find out if you are still insurable.

Yes, I know I can use my medical as a write off. The subsidy is coming from the government, where are they getting this money?

We got a similar letter. Our insurance is being extended until the end of this year, monthly premium of $635 for 3 of us. The closest ACA compliant policy is over $1200 a month, a bronze plan. We are also self employed and would not get a subsidy.

But we're lying, right?

Very similar situation for us as well.

To all those who say, just take the subsidy, well yes, we could. But does it occur to anyone that not everyone wants a handout from the government just so they can afford something that they could previously afford prior to the government's interference?
