Internationally the operations were supervised by MJ-12 and in the Soviet Union by its sister organization.

Well, I for one doubt that humans and humans alone have fueled the fascinating advances in technology in these last 100 or so years. I believe there has been some wreckage (No, not from NM) that has yielded some insights through back-engineering and laugh at anyone who tells me that those with power would never withhold any information concerning extraterrestrials. There's a reason the Vatican had the pope finally admit that there is a likelihood of other intelligent species in the universe because that is obviously the case. If the Vatican grudgingly admits to a concept so vehemently against their doctrine says something, if issuing at least a very late apology to Giordano Bruno.

Good post and a logical take on the subject. I for one love reading about this stuff and believe a rather small portion might be true but I won't be wearing tin foil anytime soon nor will I laugh it off as some sort of conspiracy.
Just think, in 1958 if someone said there was a secret military base with jets that fly 2200mph they would be laughed at over and over...well in fact just look up Project Oxcart and well everyone knows about Area 51 now. It seems like common knowledge but just think how crazy it would have sounded talking about those two things in the 50's and 60's.
