The son of a Kenyan Muslim immigrant and a woman with Irish roots, who has an Arabic name and went to a madrassa for a time in the country of his Indonesian father in law, will definitely be acknowledged by historians for his stunning election wins in '08 & '12.
In the long run it will be ObamaCare that will make or break his legacy and I think that he allowed himself to get to tied to that legislation.
The first thing Obama did was cancel the Bush-era Constellation program, which aimed at returning humans to the moon by 2020. Obama replaced it with one that redirected NASA to work toward getting astronauts to a near-Earth asteroid by 2025, then on to Mars sometime after 2030. IMHO, every president is just riding on the coattails of JFK's successful push to put a man on the moon.
On another note. Sequestration was president Obama's baby. He demanded his cuts to NASA be implemented into the budget. So how can you give the man attribution for increases to NASA funding when he was the person who forced the budget to include the mechanism which cut NASA by $900 million a year in the first place?
From your link:
The proposed NASA budget is part of President Barack Obama's 2014 federal budget request and would restore the U.S. space agency's funding back near its 2012 levels. The request is about $50 million less than NASA's last budget in 2012, but would restore deep cuts from sequestration, leaving the agency with a roughly $1 billion increase from the $16.6 billion spending bill the agency received for 2013.
Oh yes remember when Obama said that if anyone tried to stop sequestration he would veto it. Obama thought he was going to use it to blackmail republicans. Then went on a "the world is coming to an end" because republicans wouldn't let him blackmail them with it. It was a huge overplay on Obamas part.
If (from what i understand ) the history books are and have been re- written somewhat
for different reasons,
do you think that even tho his time in office has been strange to say the least
and so much is covered up by the media, that new history books will say the truth
about how his time in office really was,
or will the over used excuse , 'racism' be the card played ,
as he never got a 'fair shake' by the white americans ,
and thus mean and lying things were said,
and also the problems were more than he could fix thanks to the republicans, etc....
Im just sitting here half asleep tonight and this popped into my head..
Depends on who is writing the history book.
If it is propaganda American history for school children, he'll be the greatest thing since sliced bread, with no discussion of his policies other than platitudes like great and wonderful. If it is a tell-all from someone who knew him, it will reveal that he is a typical narcissist without any real intellect. If it is true investigative journalism, it will reveal his entire academic career (other than winning the liberal popularity contest of Editor of the Harvard Law Review) is fabricated, and a career of trading taxpayer money for campaign contributions on an epic scale. If it is about economics or intellectual in any way, it will show him to be the worst President in history for wasting the most money while accomplishing the least good (and the most bad), and increasing the burden on non-productive government on an already troubled economy. If about sociology, it will be about how the powers that be are so adamant about promoting diversity that all other standards disappear. If about government policy, it will reveal that all the money in the world won't help if it is spent stupidly. If about world leaders, he'll be yet another in the long line of Big Government socialists that lead their nations to hopeless poverty.
It really is sad and pathetic that you see everything through the lens of race.
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will be judged not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."
- Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.
Why do you speak contrary to Rev. King's dream?
Do you REALLY think Obama would have been elected to ANYTHING if he was not (half) black?

No need to wonder about racism being used as mitigating factor for Obama;s dismal, no disasterous, tenure. The failures will be so dramatic and destructive that no one will ever consider race was a reason for his abysmal failure.... unless Michele gets her way and ensures that our history be rewritten.
More importantly will be how historians treat the betrayal of the American people by the news media.
I'll bet Obama is too as Putin and Russians laugh at him while the world watches.
