Its a shame what happened but i cant blame the father , i mean what would any parent do if they saw some guy in their daughters bedroom in the middle of the night? To take it up to another level when asked the daughter says she doesnt know him.. I would of shot the guy too .
The real problem here was that the daughter lied, and im sure the outcome would of been different if she was just honest. We all make some mistakes. Also why was the boy sneaking out of the house in the middle of the night to go and see her as well.
Its a sad tragedy but you cant deem that father to suffer too. Cmon now.
If murder charges are brought....I see the daughter being charged...

That's exactly why not everyone with a pulse and a trigger finger ought to own a firearm.
Nobody is saying he deserves to be killed , who said that ?
The problem is the situation at hand. Technically the kid did break into the home , the father was woken up in the middle of the night. Listen , if you walk in a room , see someone in your daughters room, and your daughter says she dont know who he is you really think your going to have tea time with this guy and get to know each other?
The father reacted out of fear for his family , he felt a danger , an unknown person in his home.
What would of happened of the kid had a knife or gun himself? Do you want to risk being killed and having your daughter killed too?
You guys can sit here and say oh he should of been arrested or why did he shoot but you dont know what its like and nor were you in his shoes , so please save that **** for someone else.
If anything, i find the girl in the wrong for the lying.
The kid did NOT break into the home. He was invited in by the girl.
As a father of a daughter, and a person who values the right to defend my family, I do not think I would have shot this boy unless I felt my family was in imminent danger. I have a hard time imagining that the boy was aggressive if caught in bed and the father with a gun.
It seems like there was every opportunity for a different outcome.
"Sit down. Who are you? What are you doing in my daughter's room?"
"Daughter - why is he here?"
"Wait until the cops come or I shoot you"
That said - I cannot support a murder charge for the father.
I can state this as a matter of fact, having raised 2 daughters.
If I heard noises in my daughter's room, and found a boy in there, and my daughter claimed she didn't know who he was, I would probably shoot as well.
As for the parents wanting the fther charged with murder, technically, they are an accessory, since he was their son, 16 years old, and they SHOULD know where he is at that time of night.
The mother can wish on one hand and crap in the other.
As a father with a daughter, I can categorically state I would have done the same thing.
Then you would be a murderer too(if you take the same action), what exactly is your point?
