I didn't realize they were discussing that in the yearbook; can you point out in the article where it says that?

Also, consider it is much more difficult for gay men to find their match, than it is for straight men, especially since women out number men, particularly when they are older. Also, women by nature often pressure men into marriage, it is societies norm. And yes, the oppression of being gay does affect their ability to form long lasting committed relationships. If you think gay men have it as easy as straight men, you must be really naive, but then phobes really aren't that concerned with being objective in their thinking.
Yes, heterosexual men are different. Heterosexual men have less partners in their lifetimes, they have much higher rates of monogamy, and they have low rates of HIV. Over 60% of new cases of HIV infection in 2010 were men who have sex with men.

As I indicated, it is driven by cultural norm. Heterosexual men are not more monogamous by nature, they are often more monogamous because most women won't let them get away with it otherwise. Also, the imbalance between men and women leads to the institution of rape. One in three women will be raped in her lifetime. Rape is virtually non-existent in the gay community. Also, consider the incidence of sexual harassment, and domestic violence. Gay men are not as prone to violence on average as straight men. I've been out of the closet over 33 years and know that there are far more fights in straight bars, than there are in gay bars catering to men. Also, consider most married men who have affairs never confess their adultery. Many who go away on business are likely to cheat. Do you really believe if married men are propositioned by an attractive women they are going to automatically decline? Let's get real. Maybe if relationships within the gay community were celebrated and encouraged the same way they are in the straight world, we would see more monogamy.

Spot on.

Good job by the High School.

The longer conservatives (or regressives, as I like to call them) keep on preventing efforts to work toward acceptance of gay people, the longer we will have to see these types of gay coming out stories and rallies and parades, etc, in order to GAIN acceptance.

Of course, conservative logic never made sense in the first place.

I don't think acceptance is the main issue, it is the cramming all of the "coming out" hoopla down everyone's throat every moment of every day.
The fact of life is that so many accept others as they are without all the nonsense surrounding their sexual preferences and no one cared because they are friends with the person and do not base their decision on who that person has sex with.
This topic like any other gets old and trying at times simply because it is a constant. Much like violence, cursing and unnecessary sex scenes in movies and on television.
Give it a rest already and move on with your lives.

Same sex marriage is also better for the economy, because governments can collect estate taxes derived from same sex marriages.
At least be honest about what you want. In reality, what homosexuals want is full acceptance by everyone in society that homosexuality is normal.

This is not about benefits or marriage, because in this nation, every homoseuxal person can now collect their "spouses" benefits, even if they are living in a state that doesn't recognize their "marriage."

It is done by the media to get people to accept the lifestyle. Repetition is a common tactic used to impact a person's thinking on the subconcious level. If you are exposed to something daily, soon, you become desensitized to the subject matter.
