I don't like Putin, but I understand him and Russia.

It is a fact that Hitler got many of his ideas (regarding races, but also practical ones such as the gas chamber) for the Holocaust and support including a lot of money from the US. Read the books by Edwin Black on that...

When people went to the Olympics, they were watched, they were hacked, they were told not to bring their phones or computers due to same, with good reason. Some journalists experimented by bringing in total wiped computers and phones. They had been hacked within minutes.

Last June, Putin signed a law imposing draconian fees on participants of unauthorized gatherings that violate 'public order.' Following that laws were enacted which criminalized libel, particularly against government officials, tightened Internet control, and required foreign-funded nongovernmental groups involved in undefined political activity to register as foreign agents. In November, Putin signed amendments expanding the definition of high treason.

So all of central Europe is ruled in this manner?
I am not defending that, nor will I defend those ***** Riot morons and their provocative actions. Extreme free speech, where everyone can say and do anything, is not common anywhere in Europe. Even in Britain the government is allowed to censor, and it has tried to do so with the Guardian. In vain, but still...
However, one also has to be careful when reading such stories on Russia because we usually only read them in Western media or from declared Putin enemies. It is a bit like simply believing what the Romans wrote on Celtic and Germanic tribes, without considering possible agendas.

As I said, I was talking about Russian life, values, culture, etc., not current laws that come and go. Russian culture as such is not much different from the Central European one.

The US contributed to the long duration of East Germany? Wait a minute, you mean it wasn't the Jews?!
Heh heh. Well, it looks like at least one German hasn't deviate much from the proud traditions of sixty years ago, looking for someone or something to irrationally blame all the problems of the world on.

It was joint blame, several countries were to blame, including Germany, but by far not only...

Slow day at the Dew Drop Inn, huh?

Which means it's a dumb time for Obama and Hillary and the rest to be trying to whip up a Cold War and they need to stop with their silly empty threats.

Closing our bases in Europe pretty much means we will let the Europeans sort things out themselves.
